Lecture threatre or hall monitor system

The project is about a lecture threatre monitor system .when a lecture enters the lecture threatre he presses a button that set an electronic circiut device into action after about 10 min the two to entrances into the lecture threatre automatically closes due to a dc motor attached to it controlled by the circuit.the device is connected to a passive infra-red device that checks for the number of students attending the lecture i will like ideas on possible modification n possible lapses in the project
